In 2001: A Space Odyssey | The Board Game, players must fight to survive as HAL sabotages the mission to Jupiter. One player controls the malevolent HAL, while the rest of the crew works together to outwit the AI and shut it down in an exciting ‘1 vs. many format’. HAL doesn’t play fair—he’ll take multiple turns to wreak havoc on key systems. It’s up to the crewmembers, each with their own special abilities, to complete three logic sequences in the HAL Core and save the mission before it’s too late.
Each crewmember has a special power to help them outsmart HAL and stay one step ahead. Use your unique abilities to dodge the computer’s tricks and stay alive! Hal isn’t just sitting back - he’ll cause chaos and sabotage vital systems as he takes multiple turns. Every move counts in this high-stakes game of survival, where every decision could mean the difference between life and death.
HAL wins if three systems are terminated or if Life Support goes down. However, the crewmembers can win by completing three logic sequences in the HAL Core. It’s a race against time—and HAL’s relentless sabotage!
